Congratulations to CHA’s Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) project, which recently received its 5th SMP grant to continue its excellent work in reporting and preventing Medicare fraud throughout California. Awarded by the Administration on Aging, this 3-year grant runs from June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2012.
California’s SMP continues to be one of the country’s top programs in terms of education and outreach to diverse communities of beneficiaries, families and providers, and in recovery of fraudulently paid Medicare funds. One of our SMP volunteers, Man Ping Zhou from the Orange County Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP) will also be honored as one of the top 10 SMP volunteers nationwide at the National SMP Conference in Washington D.C. this August. Congratulations Man Ping Zhou!
