We are a non-profit organization dedicated to Medicare beneficiary advocacy and education for Californians. We have offices in Sacramento, Los Angeles, Oakland and Santa Ana; see our complete contact info.
Our statewide core work includes:
Advocacy: We use a variety of strategies to advocate on behalf of Medicare beneficiaries and their families. Knowledgeable staff bring Medicare beneficiaries' experiences to the public through media and educational campaigns targeting legislative staff at the federal and state level. In addition, we build coalitions of strategic partners concerned with Medicare-related issues, as demonstrated in our leadership in sponsoring the one-of-a-kind California Medicare Coalition.
Policy: We are the premiere watchdog organization for Medicare in California, and conduct public policy research to support recommendations for improved rights and protections of Medicare beneficiaries and their families. We frequently partner with other statewide and national Medicare organizations to promote policies that positively impact Medicare.
We provide timely and high-quality information on Medicare in a variety of ways including maintaining a vibrant and up-to-date website, publishing "California Medicare News" and authoring policy briefs and fact sheets concerning the Medicare's most pressing issues. In addition, our expert staff trainers provide information and education through training and consultation to professionals interested in Medicare policy issues.
