Presenters:
David Lipschutz, Staff Attorney, and Bonnie Burns, Training & Policy Specialist, California Health Advocates

David and Bonnie will provide an overview of the recently passed health reform legislation’s impact on the Medicare program, including benefit improvements, payment changes to providers and Medicare Advantage plans, and the CLASS Act relating to long-term care. There will also be updates from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Social Security, Q & A and an open discussion.

The CMC holds periodic meetings and statewide conference calls. Every meeting or call features a special presentation addressing an important and timely topic in Medicare by knowledgeable experts on Medicare, managed care and health insurance issues. In addition, representatives from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Social Security Administration are present to share updates and answer questions.
